Serving children around the world so that future generations will thrive.
Our Mission
The motto of Kiwanis International is, ``Serving the children of the world.`` The Kiwanis Club of Monterey sees this as its mission. We serve the children of Monterey and surrounding areas by working to make our community a better place for families through a wide range of volunteer activities. We raise money through multiple fundraising efforts that we use to support Key Clubs in local high schools, scout groups, and other youth-serving organizations, and every year we award a generous four-year college scholarship to a deserving local student. For nearly 100 years, the Kiwanis Club of Monterey has been making a real difference!
The Objectives of Kiwanis International
- To give primacy to the human and spiritual, rather than to the material values of life.
- To encourage the daily living of the Golden Rule in all human relationships.
- To promote the adoption and the application of higher social, business and professional standards.
- To develop, by precept and example, a more intelligent, aggressive and serviceable citizenship.
- To provide, through Kiwanis clubs, a practical means to form enduring friendships, to render altruistic service and to build better communities.
- To cooperate in creating and maintaining that sound public opinion and high idealism which make possible the increase of righteousness, justice, patriotism and goodwill.
