TaylorMade Volunteering
By providing hundreds of community volunteers for this tournament each year, the Monterey Kiwanis Club receives enough support from the Pebble Beach Foundation to fund the lion’s share of the funds the Kiwanis provide to deserving projects benefiting children and youth on the Monterey Peninsula.
There are a variety of roles available for volunteers at the tournament. Below is a list of job categories for which we need help and some basic information about what the work entails. Some jobs are only needed on the weekend, while some must be staffed all week.
Contestant Transportation
Licensed drivers 25 years and older provide immediate rides to players between locations within Del Monte Properties (for example, from The Inns at Spanish Bay to Pebble Beach, or from Pebble Beach to the practice range) using a fleet of late-model rental vehicles. (Tuesday through Sunday)
Volunteer Transportation
Licensed drivers 25 years and older take other volunteers from the parking lots to their assigned work stations and back again using a fleet of late-model rented vans. (Thursday through Sunday)
Starters
Greet contestants on the 1st or 10th tee, provide scorecards, announce the players, receive score cards after play, and report scores. (Thursday through Sunday)
Leaderboards
Post names and scores on the large signs at the Pebble Beach course. (Thursday through Sunday)
Marshals
Guide spectators and assist contestants. (Thursday through Sunday)
Walking Scorers
Walk with contestants and report scores at each hole. (Saturday and Sunday)
Standard Bearers
Youth volunteers walk with the Scorer, carrying a sign displaying contestant scores. (Saturday and Sunday)
