Monterey Cutting Day
On the third Saturday of March each year, the Kiwanis Club assists the City of Monterey Parks and Recreation Department by providing volunteers at the annual “Cutting Day and Horticultural Faire.” This is a huge event where thousands of plants–large and small–are free for the taking. Our volunteers help keep order while they distribute donated plants from local nurseries to an eager crowd. Some of the youth groups our club supports, such as the Monterey High Key Club and Venturing Crew 212, assist by moving plants from the staging area to the distribution tables. Cutting Day is held at Friendly Plaza, next to Colton Hall.
