Benefits of Membership
Members of the Kiwanis Club of Monterey participate in a variety of service projects that benefit our community and they volunteer in fundraisers that enable us to provide support for many great local causes. Being a member of the club is the single easiest way you can support all that we do. Being a member is a great way to make new friends, experience new things, and learn more about the very active and vibrant Monterey Peninsula.
As a member, you can have influence over the kinds of projects the club undertakes in the future. If you have energy for a cause that fits within our focus on serving children and families, you’ll find in the Kiwanis Club of Monterey a cadre of willing volunteers to join you.
Most of our regular meetings feature a speaker from the community. We host local political leaders, school officials, students, museum directors, innovative business leaders, alternative health practitioners, conventional health practitioners, hobbyists… name a topic and we’ve probably had a program about it.
Your first step toward membership is to visit a meeting as our guest. Meetings are held at lunchtime on the first and third Wednesdays, and at dinnertime on the second Wednesday of each month. The fourth Wednesday is reserved for the Board of Directors to meet and we often do something just for fun if there is a fifth Wednesday. The most up-to-date information about meetings and activities can be found in the club calendar at this link.
We are a fun, hardworking, and connected group of people who share a special kinship and a drive to complete our Kiwanis mission: changing the world, one child and one community at a time.
